It’s important to understand what you should expect during the installation process, as stone installation is not a fast or easy process. Granite, marble, and Quartz installation should always be done by a professional for a flawless result without damage to your home or the countertop itself. Here’s what you should expect and how you can prepare for your new countertops.

Existing Countertop Removal &
Prep work for new countertop Installation
If you have an existing countertop we can take care of the hussle of taking it apart and disposing of it. This in many cases is not the easiest of things to do, especially when you are trying to keep your existing cabinetry. There are not only screws but in some areas there may be some glue involved, depending on the type of surface that was in place before. Keep in mind that it is very important to also prep your kitchen, you can start by removing all of the top drawers of your kitchen cabinetry so you can provide our installation team easier access to the underside of your existing countertops. After this is completed, your space is ready for your new countertops!
Remember to additionally keep any pets and children away from these areas during the installation to keep them safe and out of any potential harm’s way.
Installation
Once your old countertops are removed, our crew will begin the installation of your new, beautiful countertops! We will bring in your new stone selection in sections and place them on your cabinets. Our installation team will need a clear pathway to your kitchen, as we are carrying stone that weighs anywhere from 200 pounds to 800 pounds!
** So please make sure your home’s entryway is also free of any obstructions, as these materials will need to be carried from the truck to your home, so this area needs to be clear as well. **
Shims will be used to ensure your new countertops are level. It is important to note that this is a construction project and incidental damage in the form of nicks or scrapes can occur to drywall and cabinets, as the team is moving around pieces of stone that weigh hundreds of pounds.
Final Steps
Once your countertops are placed and level, the install team will color-match epoxy for the seam, which will approximately take 30 minutes. While we wait for the seam epoxy to set, we will install the backsplash (if applicable). Last but not least, we will proceed to install your new undermount sink.
After installation, the sturdiness and levelness of your countertops will be evaluated once more to ensure your counters last a long time. Once the seams dry, the excess epoxy and dust will be removed with denatured alcohol or acetone for smooth seams. From start to finish, you can expect stone countertop installation to take about 3 hours if you have a small simple kitchen and up to 7+ hours for a large or complex kitchen. Rest assured that once this entire installation is complete, we will clean-up your new countertops. Conventional sealer is applied before the countertop leaves the shop
