Below is a description of the products we us and a picture of what they look like. Do remember that we do have a variety of colors available for each type of stone that you can choose from to ensure you always have the perfect outcome to your project.

Quartz

Quartz countertops are man-made engineered stone countertops formed by combining around 90 percent ground quartz (a natural hard mineral) with eight to 10 percent resins, polymers, and pigments. This forms a very hard granite-like surface. Since quartz is a manufactured product, it has a much wider range of colors to choose from and the finished appearance is rich and luxurious. Beauty isn’t the only thing that makes quartz slabs a popular countertop material though; quartz surpasses many natural stones on the market due to its durability and natural sealant. Being a natural stone, granite can withstand very high temperatures with no effect. Quartz however, is made with synthetic poly-resin materials and if the quartz countertop is light in color, the resin can discolor with extreme heat. While quartz is quite durable, using trivets for hot pots and pans is highly recommended.

Marble

Marble is a natural stone, so it's more resistant to scratching, cracking and breaking than many other available countertop materials? In spite of its durability, marble is softer than granite, so it's possible to incorporate attractive design elements, such as fancy edges, during the fabrication process. The natural glow from marble is perfect for adding brightness to kitchens or bathroom countertops with little natural lighting. Since marble is a natural stone, it is more resistant to scratching, cracking and breaking than many other countertop materials. Marble has been used as a building material for a very long time, so its ability to withstand the test of time is well documented. When it’s installed by an Expert such as VMC and properly sealed and maintained, you can expect to enjoy the beauty of marble in Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach for a lifetime.

Granite:

The stone is naturally quite rough and textured, but when it is ground and polished during the countertop manufacturing process, it takes on a smooth surface with a rich luster. Granite can help elevate the design of any room to the next level. However, it’s unique and beautiful appearance isn’t the only reason for it’s popularity. Granite is also strong and durable which makes it resistant to scratches and is heat resistant. In addition, granite that is properly sealed can resist stains, spills, and fading so you can enjoy its natural beauty for a long time. Did you know that there are more than 300 different types of granite and no two slabs are alike? Selecting the right color might be difficult, but choosing the right company is easy.   At VMC Marble & Granite,  we listen to you. We help you narrow down your search and to find the right type of countertop for you home. Quartzite:

Some confusion still surrounds the difference between Quartzite and Quartz in relation to countertops. They are two completely different things. Quartzite countertops are produced using natural, porous stone that is cut to exact dimensions. Quartz countertops are engineered stone that is molded into custom shapes. Quality examples contain more than 90% loose quartz, with the remaining 7% being resins and other materials. Although quartzite has a similar appearance as marble, its durabilty is as strong as granite. Quartzite is also resistant to deteriorating from acidic foods such as lemons and tomato making it the perfect bullet proof type of countertop.

Granite types of Edges

There are several options when it comes to our Basic Edges. you can have a Straight or Eased edges, which are the most commonly used when you want to use the same stone as you backsplash. Another popular option to the basic edges, is to have a more rounded look and feel. This is one option is well known as it is an option that will not break the bank. It comes as a full round top and bottom, or 1/4 round edge.

Beveled, this type of edge provides a flattened corner whcih slopes down twice at an angle of approximately 45 degrees, which creates a sharper edge. You can have it beveled at the top or you can also choose to do it top and bottom.

Full Bulldose have prolonged curved edges both at the top and the bottom for an even look which makes it a very good option. They are very universally used and is one of the most popular countertop edges
